Drug Store News Interviewed Me!

I was recently interviewed by Drug Store News, and I’m excited to share some of what we talked about.

We discussed how press-on nails are set to become the new standard, moving beyond basic looks to embrace true artistry and self-expression.

Soon, the traditional paint-and-dry method will seem old-fashioned.

The New Salon

Press-ons are literally going to replace the salon. We are the new salon manicure.

My journey with Rave Nailz started because I wanted amazing nails without the salon price tag. It was hard to get appointments with the nail artists I liked to get the cool looks we now see everywhere, even on the red carpet.

People are moving past basic nails; it’s all about the artistry now.

Expressive Artistry

Beauty is not just about fixing things anymore, it’s a way of self-expression.

That idea is the foundation of Rave Nailz. We’re the first brand to replicate true nail artistry in a press-on format. Our nails are designed with dimension, artistry, and quality.

They are also made to look and feel like an actual manicure.

Humble Beginnings

I started an Etsy shop nearly a decade ago, before press-on nails were mainstream. I very quickly started to see demand.

My first wholesaler order was from Dolls Kill, and I hand-painted every single set with the help of my friends. I used the money from those orders to start manufacturing six styles, and then the pandemic hit.

Pandemic Push

All of a sudden people were down to try press-on nails. It was an experimental time and people were sitting at home and couldn’t go to salons.

I was able to really ramp up the business during that period.

Trend Spotting

Nail trends are always changing. I am personally so into art and fashion, so I’m able to predict what’s happening next.

  • Currently, 3D elements are all the rage in the nail world, a void Rave Nailz is uniquely filling in the press-on market.
  • This includes hand-painted brushstroke effects, reflective chromes, and the mesmerizing “cat eye” effect, which gives color depth and a metallic shimmer.
  • I’m really excited for our holiday styles because we’re combining that effect with gold metallic details.

Brand Expansion

While Rave Nailz started with an alternative aesthetic based on my background, the brand is now expanding its horizons.

We’re branching into other styles for the Y2K-Gen Z generation, including colorful and expressive designs. I love going to music festivals, so there is a load of inspiration there. I started in the music industry doing graphic design and art. I also enjoy traveling and gather inspiration from that as well.

Authentic Connection

Rave Nailz thrives on authenticity and a deep connection with its customers. We’re real.

As a founder, I’m very involved and I talk directly to the customers. I’m on Instagram, in people’s DMs, because I genuinely want to be.

If they have a question, I want to talk about it. I feel like people see and feel that and connect with it.

Sustainable Future

Looking ahead, I believe press-on nails are not just a trend, but the future of how nails will be done. They are a more sustainable way of doing nails.

Our products are always vegan and cruelty-free, and we are making ongoing efforts to improve our packaging sustainability as the brand continues to grow.

We have four new collections in the pipeline, each promising enhanced fit, natural aesthetics, and impressive durability.

Conclusion

In summary, the conversation with Drug Store News covered our journey from a small Etsy shop to a brand that is redefining the nail industry.

We are focused on artistry, connection, and sustainability, proving that press-on nails are the manicure of the future.

We are consistently pushing the boundaries of what press-on nails can achieve. Rave Nailz is currently available on our website, in boutique locations, on Amazon, and at Follett Bookstores on college campuses, with a major retail rollout planned for the near future.
